USC Women continue hot run, beat Oregon State

South Carolina defeated Oregon State on Tuesday, 59-42, to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Gamecocks are appearing in their 7th consecutive Sweet 16 and 11th in program history.


Aliyah Boston led South Carolina with a team-high 19 points and 7 rebounds. Destanni Henderson had 12 points and Zia Cooke added 10 points


South Carolina will play Georgia Tech in the Sweet 16, Hemisfair Region, to be determined either Saturday or Sunday.


The Gamecocks (24-4) led by a point after one quarter but had built a 12-point lead by halftime and were up 53-29 by the start of the fourth. Oregon State managed just five points on 2-of-12 shooting and had seven turnovers in the second quarter.


Taylor Jones scored 13 points for Oregon State (12-8).
